01 · Program overview

A season built around what schools already do best.

The School KIND Competition gives districts a clear framework for turning kindness, service and school spirit into a shared experience. Students take part in real acts of kindness that are logged and celebrated with care.

A district joins with one registration per school and a verified school code. The experience is designed for both classroom and after-school settings, so each school can find a rhythm that fits its community.

Project Kind supports leaders with a structured way to encourage participation, recognize effort and connect schools across a state.

11 · FAQ

Good questions are part of a good partnership.

Is it free for schools?

Pricing is still being finalized. Grants and championship prizes are available, and local business sponsorship can cover a school’s participation. We welcome a conversation about what is possible for your district.

What data do you collect about students?

The experience is designed around privacy-first, school-administered participation. We do not need student personal data to celebrate acts of kindness, and public-facing information is kept focused on approved school activity.

How much class time does it take?

Schools can shape the experience around classroom and after-school settings. Teachers and leaders can choose the rhythm that fits their community; exact guidance will be shared during onboarding.

Is it a game?

It is a structured kindness competition, not a game of chance. The emphasis is on real acts of kindness logged and celebrated by participating schools.

Can parents opt out?

Yes. Schools can provide families with their own participation and opt-out process, consistent with district policy and the school’s approval workflow.

How do you handle student privacy and media consent?

School staff administer logging, student personal data is not shared publicly, submissions are moderated, and anything public follows school approval and applicable media-consent practices.

Are there prizes?

Championship prizes and recognition opportunities are part of the program design. Details are pending confirmation and will be shared before participation is finalized.

How are acts of kindness verified?

Acts are logged through a teacher- or staff-administered workflow and reviewed through school-approved processes. The goal is a trustworthy, age-appropriate record of participation.
